Luxury is ocean swimming. It’s eating what’s in season. It’s opening your wardrobe and pulling together something you’ve had for years, giving it a new spin, and making it feel fresh. Living well isn’t about spending more it’s about paying attention.

On Our Table & On The Radar

The Way We Cook

We’re here for good living. Dancing through the seasons and eating what’s in, as soon as it hits. That keeps the price in check, the flavour up, and the quality at its best. Makes sense, right?

Cook like your grandparents did, don’t waste a thing and never cook for just one meal.

It’s a way of embracing food that’s about sustainability, flavour, and practicality. This is how we cook, and I hope it inspires you to try something new.

Set the Table - This Weeks Recipe

Tart on the tongue, that end-of-summer meets start-of-autumn combo that just works.

Apple & Nectarine Hazelnut Crumble

The flavour of hazelnuts pairs perfectly with end-of-season nectarines, bright green tart apples, and Greek yoghurt - our new favourite. It’s a light and delicate way to reinvent a classic old-school crumble. A nice change.

“The thing about the crumble is the lightness of its crispy hazelnut topping, it really suits autumn, I really like it”

On The Radar

Hot To Trot - What’s All The Fuss About These Cookies?

Or should we say biscuits? Either way, ButterBoy cookies are everywhere right now, and for good reason.

So what’s the fuss about? It’s simple: ButterBoy’s branding is spot-on, cheeky, playful, and irresistibly delicious. With a tagline like “The only boy you need in your life,” it’s impossible not to love. The cookies themselves? Too good to resist, and perfect for sharing, on socials, that is. I don’t mean share a bite with a friend, I mean share it on your feed and help the brand go viral.

Want in? Swing by The Deli by The Grocery Store in Miranda for just $7 a cookie, cheaper than anywhere else, and hey, a saving’s a saving, especially if you’re eating more than one.

Swim Brief

South Cronulla Beach to Windy Point Return: Approx 3km

Water Temp: 23.5°C

Perfect

2022 Image by Nick, keeping our gram looking fresh.

After a week of big storms and massive swells the conditions for ocean swimming have been perfect this week: spectacular sunrises, warm water, and longer swims that take us to Shelly Beach and Windy Point making the most of it while we can.

Peter’s same-day, 9-year water temperature comparison captures the changing temps of South Cronulla.

How’s 2020’s temperature? Holy moly, that would wake you up! That’s wetsuit weather around these waters.

Winter Survival, But Make It Fashion

If I were giving out fashion advice for the upcoming Autumn/Winter, I’d tell you to skip the usual suspects and head straight for the outdoor stores like Arc'teryx, or Patagonia. We’re talking technical adventure clothing.

Why? Because I want to be dressed for flight.

Not just for the cold. The climate, in every sense, feels a little unstable. So I want to be ready to bolt at a moment’s notice. Comfortable, prepared, weatherproof. Where am I going? No idea. Just running.

But how do you balance survival and style? I’ve got the answer. And if you want the full rundown on how to layer up without sacrificing your look, plus the shoes I’m wearing (and coveting) you’ll want to keep reading.
